Science Centre on 10 June

Haha firstly please accept my apologies for being MIA for such a long time. I guess I am caught up with so many stuff during the holiday, the only thing I did when I managed to get online was to check my 3 email accounts and at times pampering myself by watching my fav drama on crunchyroll hee!

Have any of your been to the Science Centre lately? Woah let me tell you, it definitely looks much much different from how I remembered it to be from the bits and pieces of memories that I gathered from my Primary School days.

They even have something like a mini water theme park near the entrance. What a way to spend a day with my cutest and most charming little boyfriend. haha. Curious??

While the day begins with my little boyfriend fetching me from my block! Dress in Tux and a bouquet of flowers in hands, he greeted me with his usual dazzling smile. Beside him park the hottest .... hmmm Kia? haha kidding I mean Toyota haha eh okie I give up. (Just imagine the hottest car k) ..... I know that most of your must be thinking WAKE UP PEILING!!!!! hahaz

The above paragraph is stg just to brighten up your day! haha eventhough I am sure there are no link. K i admit I am lame k!

Okie okie back to the real thing. Instead of having my little boyfriend fetching me to the Science Centre, I make my way to Marsiling to pick him up from the Child Care Centre that he is in. He look so funny with excitement written all over his face when he saw me. It doesn't take an expert to realise how much he likes me as a tutor... hahaz just kidding! Can't wait to see his face? Hang on!!! haha

Man! I must admit that I am old le. Can't keep up with his little legs. Walking (Speed x 1) around the Science Centre with him is definitely much tiring as compared to walking (Speed x 3.2) from one shopping mall to the other shopping mall even though the speed used for shopping is much much faster.

K without any further delays, here are at the much awaited photo!

Presenting.......... My little Boyfriend

So cute hor! lol

Oh NO!! Where's the legs? Should have reminded him to bring them out the other day!

The person who took this photo nearly make me laugh until my teeth drop. She hold the camera the other way round and she was complaining that she cant see a thing. And all the while her eyes were in the display screen of the camera cos she was looking through the hole at the front of the camera. So cute ya! (She is ard 20+ leh not auntie k)

Have no link with the above photos haha. Just to let your know of the current update of the World and Singapore Population. The figures actually changes every second. I wonder if they consider the death rate too. It's really interesting how they keep track of the population ya.

Actually I wanted to pen a few more blogs tonight but am kind of tired now. I know you guys would prefer me to have my beauty sleep right? heez.

10.00am: Briefing by Joe before we begin on our RACE! The whole NUS cluster are dress in different colours. And needless to say. Brown RuleZ! (NUS Biz/Law CG's colour) Heez

All engross in the handout!

Joe looks like he is really really serious about the briefing

10.00am to 12.30pm: We were given 2hrs 30min to complete the race. Our first stop was at the Temporary Market Place near the MRT station. Let's check out what were in store for us!

(1) Temporary Market Place at Outram

I can't remember the stall name. If I am not wrong, both the Chee Chong Fan and Yam cake should be from the stall Jin Xiang or somewhere along the line. Heez

Chee Chong Fan
Rating: @@@

Yam Cake for $1 (Yummy!)
Rating: @@@@*
For your info, I bought $2 back home haha. Of cos good stuff have to be shared with ur mummy right!!

Hong Kong Mong Kok Dim Tim
Rating: @@@@
(Pricing is rather reasonable, 3 pieces for $1.50, I love the Siew Mai- really good!)

Look at Gene's face and you will know how I feel too. 3 bucks for a cup of pearl?! (To be use for Pearls' war) I shall not mention the name of the stall but Hmmmm I guess it's the only stall that sell bubble tea at the Temporary Market Place though heez

Rating: -

(K maybe I shouldn't be that mean, credit should be given to the elasticity and stickiness of the pearls which stick to the back, front, left, right (you name it) of the whole cluster (or most since there are some pple hiding in one corner pretending that they are not part of the NUS cluster during the war. *hmmm* I am one of them lolx)

Freshly squeezed Lime Juice from Nan Fa hot and cold drink stall
( can you believe that a cup of Lime juice is make up of 30 limes) Power! All for $1.20 a cup. You have to try it to believe it!
Rating: @@@@

Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Foo
Rating: @@@*
(Super long queue but I guess it's worth the wait)

Niu Che Shui Famous Glutinous Rice
Rating: @@@*
(You can choose to have your sweet or salty, recommendation? Mixture. At $1 a plate, what are you waiting for? Just looking at the pairs of chopstick that we took alone cost more than 50cents. heez)

Okie after the makan, it's time to do some LABOUR- to burn off those calories that we consume just minutes ago! (Eventhough I doubt it will really burn off those fat) Beansprouts anyone? Well since Biz/Law people are well-known for being patient and skillful with their hands, how difficult can that be for us right?

Look at our happy faces!!
John can't even stop plucking the beansprouts to posh for the camera and why do I have the feeling that Joe is glaring at those beansprouts that I have just plucked. Do they really look that bad?

Hard at work! We are serious about it! SERIOUS!~

Joe: "No more posing for camera, building the beansprouts business is more important!"
Gene, Grace, Ming You: "Yes, Sir!"

(2) Chinatown street
We have three dishes along the way but I guess we were too busy gorging the food that we forgot to take any proper photo heez. We have 2 pots of frog legs porridge($8 per pot), kolo mee ($5.90 per bowl, with prawns, vege, minced meat, wanton and char siew) and Tiong Bahru Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice (Eh haha dunno leh- should be $3 i guess).

Well eventhough we do not have the proper photo for the food but I am sure you guys wouldn't mind looking at photo with us happily enjoying those yummy food right???

Claypot Frog Porridge
(From WeiMing's facial expression, I guess he isn't really fascinated with the porridge)
Rating:

Kolo mee and chicken rice
Rating for both:
@@@*

You think life is easy for us judging from the above photo!?

Nahz! They are never this nice to us! heez! Read on to find out....

HERBAL TEA CHALLENGE
You think you have tried the worst herbal tea in the world? Hang on a minute! Wait till you tried this!

Don't get cheated by their nice packaging. The taste still linger in my mouth now at the thought of it!

WeiMing Speech:

Before drinking--> What so difficult about it? Not bitter at all lah! Come I drink!

After drinking-->Face all scrambled up! Ewww!!! I am never going to touch this thing again!

=End of Speech=

Do you feel the torture now of having to finish 2 bottles of herbal tea?

Yup! Kenny's face says it all. DEFINITELY NOT JOE's FACE!! (He is smiliing cos he manages to con Kenny in finishing the whole bottle! haha~ Joe pls dun kill me when u see this!)

12.30pm-2.00pm: Time to get back to the starting/ending point. We were 20 mins late. So if we were to get a deduction of 5 marks for each min of lateness, we will have a total deduction of 100marks. And if we were to consider that we only managed to clock 60 marks for the whole race, that will make a total of -40marks. haha. Well, I guess we are definitely better off at the very start when we still have 0mark in our account. Wellz. We can always try to win back some point at the last challenge: Pearls War

Get your weapons ready!

Aim!

Attack!

Aftermath of the war!

Nearing to 2pm. Mark the end of The Foodie Amazing Race! Soldiers from different faculties were tired with bodies battered. (Though I kind of pity the grass more for being trampled on!!) Nonetheless, that did not dampen our spirit for more photo-taking sessions! Look at our radiant smiles and you will never guess that we have all been under the scorching sun for more than 4 hours.
Over!

Well seriously I have no idea what they are trying to do haha but I am advertising for my baby tissue wipe! Super handy!

Free the Dolphins

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentioned the word "Dolphin"?

Friendly creatures? One of Earth's most intelligent animal? Sociable creature?

Dolphins have always left a positive impression in me. Neither are they sadistic or hideous -(toad/frog, my major fear!) . In fact, they are always depict as the friendly creatures in movies or shows such as Flipper, who always get along so well with the human mankind. They are just so incredibily adorable that one might even get tempted to have a Dolphin as a pet! (That's beside the point - of cos we can't but we can always adopt one! visit this link: http://www.marineconnection.org/adopt_a_dolphin.html)

Not long ago, I came across an email titled: Stop the dolphin and whale killings in Taiji. I did not give it much thought at first and it took me close to another week before I finally click on the mail to read more. After watching the short video attached to it, it doesn't take me long to realise that I too should play a part in saving the lives of these helpless creatures who are being killed inhumanly in somewhere not far aways from where I am right now.

I know some of you out there might be thinking that all these are just parts and parcels of life. Animals are meant to be killed to satisfy our palate. Isn't that how all the lives of the other animals are meant and decided to be when they were born or even much earlier. (when their parents were being bred and fed to produce offspring for sales) But let's try looking at this from another angle. Are there not enough variety of food out there to satisfy our stomach in today's world? Human is one of the most fortunate living things in this world. We have much more than we could ever ask for and yet we are always seen complaining of how we are forever lacking in certain areas in our lives. When can we ever get satisfied with our lives? Sadly the answer by the majority is "Never".

I sincerely hope that after watching this video clip, it will change the way you felt about the killing of Dolphin and Whale. (Hopefully for the better)

How do you feel after watching the clip? Do you feel the same way as I did? We can all do our part for these poor creatures now. Be part of the petition to free these lovely creatures that are supposed to be roaming freely in their habitat. http://www.petitiononline.com/golfinho/petition.html

Travelling

I was looking through some of the photo that I took a few years back when I was travelling oversea with my friends. Miss those days!!

Hong Kong is definitely my NUMBER 1 destination so far. Miss those time I had with Claire and Queen. It's my first time travelling oversea with just 2 girls and I must say we are really daring then. Still remember at that time, I had only been to Hong Kong once when I was 12 years old, Claire had never been to Hong Kong while Queen had only been to Hong Kong only once when she was rather small too. (To add on, me and Queen can't really speak Cantonese) We were totally clueless as to what Hong Kong has in store for us. However that definitely did not dampen our mood for =chi dong xi, mai dong xi, chi dong xi, mai dong xi= haha (if u know what I mean)

At the cafe below our hostel!! Taken by our beloved Uncle who greeted us every morning with his big bright smile!

Taken at the stairs in the temple

We are the well known directors for the movie- Avenue of Stars

Inside their tram ( the one heading to Disney Land is even better!)

Trying to hide! But with my size, I doubt so!

Yay! It was hard to have all 3 of us in the picture

The street near where we stayed. (Super convenient)

This was our humble hide-out for a day's tiring spree

Next we have - Macau and Hong Kong

5 months down the road and I headed for Hong Kong again. This time round it was an educational trip with my school but I was still as excited.

Pretending that the crackles are on fire! We are good at it, aren't we? ^^

St Paul at Macau

Glaring sun but we still managed to give our most radiant smile

The almighty Evelyn!

Disney Land?! Hmmmm guess we have to satisfy our craving for the still renovating Disney Land with retail shop situated at the airport itself.

We are going to prosper ("fa") for the years to come!!!

Guess who are the gamblers among us?

Makan time!

Jumbo is just behind us.

Okie we were supposed to act blur but all 3 expressions looked so different haha

Last shot at Hong Kong airport before heading off for HOME

I wonder when will be the next time that I will be heading to Hong Kong again. I miss the "Jacky Chan" hostel, the cafe with his bao and tea! I miss the bustling street too. I miss those complain that I made to Claire and Queen whenever I kanna some aircon water while walking by the street. hahaz! (For ur info, I am always the unlucky one among the three of us who always kanna aircon water without fail eveyday during the one week trip!! Unfair!! ^^) Despite that I still miss Hong Kong loads! While, I think I should stop whining and move on haha. I am sure I will get to visit Hong Kong soon, I have a strong feeling I will!!

Tuesday Green

Monday Blue..... Tuesday Green!!

I have no idea why but I am seriously in no mood to mug. Exams are coming and I am still enjoying myself (Can't believe that I manage to steal some time off today "busy" schedule to go all the way to Khatib to look up the noti little girl - btw her name is Serene.)

As usual, Serene can't wait to get her little hands on me when I reached. (It's not often that a prey will make their own way to find her) Can't think of a better way to shed off those extra kilos? Then make a trip to SERENE SLIMMING CENTRE and WhaLa, you will be burning those unwanted fats within 15 minutes.

I was made to run around my Aunt 5-rooms flat for the whole time. The "nasty" little hands grabbing onto you, nudging you to follow her where ever her legs could carry her. I was really panting by the time she decides to take a break from her "jog" considering that she needs to pee from all the milk, water, juices and soft drinks that she consume. (In case you are wondering at the types of liquid that she is consuming - she can't help but take a sip out of everyone drinks and that explain the wide variety of drinks she consume each day! Tsktsk!)

Hmmm enough of Little Serene for the day! Shall continue in time to come - I am sure I can't wait to visit her soon to see what kind of terrors she has in wait for me.

Shall end today's blog with a short video clip of Serene doing her favourite TaiChi. Though our Serene Shifu was kind of distracted today during her practice after she set her eyes on the "legendary" fan left lying on the floor by the once renowned Sun Wu Kong. (Hmmm I know got no link... haha!!)
